Academic Integrity Elementary Classroom Middle School High School RenWeb
Partnering with families in educating the whole person to glorify God
| A Strong Bridge by Mr. Hawkins I am a devoted follower of Jesus Christ. As a teacher, my goal is to inspire; I want to encourage students to bridge the gap between where they are and the place God’s calling them to be. As an administrator, I serve those under my leadership in establishing and supporting the priorities necessary to meet our purpose. A leader’s obligation is to empower those he/she is leading to fulfill their mission. Pre-adolescents leave our Elementary School with a solid foundation and momentum. As students mature they are presented with the challenge of discovering their individual purpose and corporate responsibility, all within the framework of academics, activities, and athletics. • Initially, the focus is on the art of fulfillment. This simply means students learning who they are and what they are called to do. The question of growing choices as they are learning to be, i.e. finding fulfillment is relationship to the Heavenly Father. (Eph. 2:10). • Secondly, the focus shifts to the science of achievement. What exploits does God design for each student? How can we encourage the Father’s path? The challenge for the student builds on who they will be to how will they do it (John 6:27-29).
Students should leave OCS Middle School not necessarily
answering these questions, but at the very least,
knowing these questions exist. This provides the
needed momentum into High School where they will be
called upon to begin answering these questions, and thus
chart their course.
I truly believe that together (students, parents, faculty
and staff) we can build that strong bridge. |
